Physical Therapy

For more than 5 years now Graham Rehabilitation and Wellness Center has offered a multidisciplinary environment for patients to rehabilitate their injuries. Dr. Mark Groven, formally trained as a naturopathic physician, dedicated 14 years instructing physical medicine and rehabilitation. rehab clinicAs former chairperson for the Department of Physical Medicine at Bastyr University, Dr. Groven offers an extensive background in the diagnosis and treatment of physical pain. As a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, Dr. Groven brings a unique approach to the treatment of all musculoskeletal injuries.

“Physical recovery, complete healing and peak performance have the attributes of joint mobility, soft tissue flexibility and muscular endurance and strength. A multi faceted approach helps to promote the overall best chance for recovery and optimum health.”

Sophisticated Diagnosis

Physical rehabilitation begins with a comprehensive examination which goes beyond standard orthopedic and neurological testing. Dr. Groven has evaluated thousands of individuals with a variety of physical complaints over his 20 years as a physical medicine specialist. His talented hands-on approach to diagnosis often uncovers subtle but important nuances that uniquely and adversely affect individual patients. Dr. Groven has at his disposal computerized testing to accurately assess both muscle balance and strength. The information gathered from this comprehensive assessment is then used to create a specific rehabilitation program that is customized for each patient’s individual needs. Dr. Groven developed a reputation for helping the most complicated patients and he continues to receive referrals from other physicians in the Greater Seattle area when their patients are unresponsive to other physical therapy treatments.

One on one care

In many physical therapy clinics patients are provided instruction and then left on their own to do stretching and exercises. At Graham Rehabilitation and Wellness Center you will receive one on one care. Your entire visit is supervised by Dr. Groven and his team to assure that all activities are done properly.

“Patients have a tendency to fudge a little while doing their exercises. This is normal and expected, especially when recovering from an injury. It is my experience that one-on-one supervision is the only way to assure that patients fully recover.”
