DRX-9000

The DRX9000 decompression system has literally changed the way that we treat most lower back and leg pain that is caused by an injury of the lumbar disc.  This technology enables us to provide a gentle unloading force directed into the disc in the lower back. This unloading force is incredibly safe and is generated by a computerized mechanism that specifically targets the problematic disc. In the process, a negative pressure is created inside the disc resulting in a vacuum effect that draws the bulging or “slipped” material back into the center of the disc. This decompression force also draws fluids and nutrients back into the disc allowing it to rehydrate and heal. Back and leg pain gradually reduce as the herniated part of the disc retracts off of the compressed nerve.

Unlike other treatments for back pain and leg pain, the DRX9000 technology promotes healing making the disc healthier. Most other treatments like medication and injections only cover up the pain. Once the medicine wears off, the pain returns. Surgery may remove the bad disc and provide relief however surgery leaves your back weaker and permanently altered with scar tissue. If the surgery fails and doesn’t provide the desired pain relief, damage is done and there is no going back. Spinal decompression offers lower back and leg pain suffers a highly effective, noninvasive alternative to standard medical care and irreversible surgeries.

Current studies tell us that lower back and leg pain is often caused by injuries to the discs. Trauma, repetitive motions, poor posture and disc dehydration from aging can make the disc tissue wear out. In nearly all cases this degenerative condition occurs over time and is much more likely to affect those who have a history of chronic lower back pain. Unlike other structures in the body, discs have poor blood supply and once damaged struggle to heal. As the disc become dry and brittle it gradually breaks down leading to inflammation and pain and disc degeneration. Gradually, the nucleus of the disc (the center part) pushes through the disc and compresses the spinal nerves and/or the spinal cord. This is called a herniated, bulging, prolapsed or protruded disc. When the disc compresses the nerve pain, weakness, tingling and numbness radiate down the leg and into the foot.

The greatest challenge has always been in finding a way to treat discs without doing something invasive like surgery. Prior to spinal decompression therapy there wasn’t a step between treatments like chiropractic, physical therapy and back exercises and back surgery. Now, with the advancements in spinal decompression using the DRX9000 decompression system, there is.
